I love to blog

Nerds Unite!

oh, the insanity

*Design note: Because of the recent troubles I've been having with hosting and blah, blah, blah the design has been mostly replaced with non-images. As in, it currently sucks. As soon as I'm able to fix the problem everything should be back up. However, for now I've only made it to the whining and mumbling incoherently stage, shuddering at the work, hassle and eventual smoking habit that awaits me. Check back at solardragon for updates.

solardragon.org

Ok, the general lazy launch page is now up. Go here to see it.

Phew. You'll notice the hard work that was put into it. Quite the feat, that.

The new site:

Domain: Solardragon.org

When the domain is finished being activated, or however the lingo refers to it as, the new blog will be here. Its called "Dragon Ink", and may -- most likely temporarily -- sport the solardragon design until I can get a better design for it.

My other plans for the domain include a redesign (and blogspotless-ness..(?)) of Dead Broke and Kitten Champagne, as well Solardragon will most likely metamorphisize into a secondary weblog. (I'll try to figure out how I'm going to incoporate this -- and besides that, make my life seem a helluva lot more exciting then it actually is. Perhaps I should take to playing in traffic and recording all these "misadventures" in a carblog? Yeah. Dunno.)

Bombarding you with ugly peppermint inspired design

God -- does this layout not look like the gingerbread house from hell?

So sugary. So sweet. Ugh.

I'm in the process of getting the domain -- I'll be setting it up once I get access to my --grrr-- files from virtue.nu. (Now ZeroCatch. And bastards who charge me and threaten pop-up ads. That's right. They're the DEVIL. Collectively.)

I'm going a little crazy here, not being able to seriously post in a while (you know, the unwanted tidbits of my life previously spewed here for all your disgust and enjoyment) -- I've decided to post all non-domain related information here, temporarily of course. I'm sorry to lead you guys through link purgatory here (if, of course, there were such a place), but I guess things are going to as unstable as Mariah Carey until the new domain is in some order.

Updating with zest:

Or, not.

So, the current solution? I'm going to be getting a domain. (Those of you who are still waiting for this page to fully load can now jump for joy and stop sending me e-mails concerning the neverending slowness of this blasted site.) I haven't completely decided on the name, but I'm getting it set up right now and should have it by Tuesday or Wednesday. Also, rather then direct linking images from my domain in order to have this pita, I'll probably set up with blogger, meaning that this page will probably be closed down -- but there'll be plenty of warning beforehand and thats still not set in stone.

At any rate, I'll be posting the progress either here or at kitten champagne and will inform you guys as to when the domain is ready to be seen. (This entire process is quite fun. I'm about thisclose to foaming at the mouth and picking several names just for the helluvit.)

These are a few of the domain names I've been thinking of:

solardragon.org, solardragon.net, dragon-ink.net, dragon-ink.org, goldenfly.net... etc, etc, etc.

Site changes that suck.

I've changed the design to be somewhat image-less -- the layout will revert back to the old one as soon as I get a domain or what have you set up. For further explanation go here.

And fer chrissakes, someone get me a martini.

As boring as dry toast and only half as tasty.

Y'know, subject lines get harder and harder to come up with as the years progress...

Nothing much going on today-- Tan and I drove around taking some pictures for her photography class. One particularly cruelly hard project consisted of her taking pictures of natural things that looked like humans.

Today I looked at 8829 trees. Closely. Eventually I just pointed them out and made stuff up:

Me: Omigod, that tree looks like cheated figure-skating pair Jamie Sale and David Pelletier!
Tanya: What? Where? Do you mean the one that looks like another goddamn tree?
Me: Yeah. That one. The one next to it kinda looks like Osama Bin Laden, too. Y'know. If you squint your eyes and turn your head to the right at an angle.

Many, many sighs of relief:

I emailed tech support at virtue.nu (I bet they've had a fun day fielding death threats and written freak-outs consisting of : "MY PAGE, MY PAGE!!! WHERE IS MY PAGE??!?")--anyway, this is what they told me:

Virtue.nu has moved. Your files have not been deleted. We welcome all of the virtue.nu users. We realize that this has caused some inconvenience. There will be an announcement at www.virtue.nu posted today to explain how the transfer of files etc will take place. We are doing all we can to make the transition seem less and pleasant for the over 400,000 users. Please be patient as we will take care of this as soon as possible.

So, as soon as I get this thing settled the full site should be back up again, with no ghastly "Files not Found" and the like. So, hurray for that.

AAAAAAAgh!!!

What, what, what??? I'm about thisclose to entering stroke territory here. I'm having some trouble accessing my virtue.nu sites -- it being the host of about 75% of this site. So, if you're getting this weird "ZeroCatch File Not Found" thing, I have no idea what in.... sam hill is going on. (On the upside, of course, I've been waiting years to incorporate "sam hill" into any given sentence.)

ANYWAY, I went to virtue.nu, but it now says ZeroCatch login, so I logged on and --- no such username exists. GAH! So, currently, I have this rather nasty, sinking feeling that I've lost most of this site. On the upside, some of the pages are archived on my computer, but mostly sans any updates or changes. Hopefully I can fix this, or find some remnants of the site... or fold up in the fetal position in the corner..

On the upside, I'm, for the most part, seeing images on the pita, which means that I must have at least one account at virtue.nu -- possibly. Or, maybe, its just one big massive, fixable mix-up. Dunno. Either way, please bear with me, guys until I get this fixed and/or have a massive mental breakdown.

I think I need to go exert some physical violence on some inanimate objects, now. EEEeeergh.

Damn and Blast and Goddamn Fucking Fiddlesticks!!!

I'm having a lot of difficulty with continual error messages in IE that close down everything I'm working on -- case in point, some of the pages I've been attempting to get finished on the site. I'll be just moments, or at the very moment of saving these precious files when --ta - da --, my computer decides to close IE down.

Its probably some faulty, bad news computer wiring. Its probably sitting inside the computer right now, planning the exact timing for which to utterly screw with my mind, turn me fully insane and thus destroy the rest of his chip-like brothers and sisters. (Because, you see, if I'm going down into the world of drool cups and padded walls, I'm taking this conniving beige box with me.)

I suppose, however, if I don't go absolutely bonkers I will be finished some of the stuff I'm working on by tonight and will, in fact, be able to post the links after only seven or eight rewrites. (Occassionally even after copying or saving the information is still not there, so as you can see, the faulty chip is thinking: Stroke of massive proportions.)

We could even make a bet that in the next 4.2 seconds the "error" box will spring up triumphantly and I'll be forced to either write this out again, or forget it, thereby never having this entry posted ever.

Not a big loss, but being as how this has already happened 16 times today alone, I'm about ready to go for the computorial jugular. If that makes sense -- which by now, it probably doesn't.

The listing of collective schtuff:

1) And after that, Elvis/Jesse will ask you to put on some Nikes and drink the specially-prepared fruit punch. (Link via Opine Bovine)

2) I have a pretty slack day tomorrow -- only one class if you don't count the fact that I never go to Entrepeneurship. (Skipped Day #7 Ladies and Gentlemen. Go gas station attending for the REST OF MY NATURAL LIFE(!) ) I think I may take the car at noon, cruise around a bit and take some pictures... or sit at home on my ass doing nothing..

3) I got my writer's craft story marked today -- 'In The Roots of Dying Trees'. People said it was good. My writer's craft teacher said it was good. I think its pure, unadulterated crap.

4)I'm thinking of trying the a dollar short colouring contest. That is, of course, if I can find any of my colouring implements -- I'm always the person who buys a new package of markers and the next day has lost or destroyed or run out all of them save the two ugliest colours in the bunch.

5)

My Mormon name is D'Shara Serenity Fawn!
What's yours?

-- Am I from Utah then? The land of Olympic games and polygamy? Oh, joy. Oh, bliss.

6) Another 24-hour party picture: (At my school, in front of "The Beatles" :

(The. Image. Isn't. Working. @#%@$^@%!#! Fudge.)

7)I scanned in a couple of the pages of my poetry book (for my OAC Art 5 projects) -- the quality is a little screwed and their a smidge overbright, but here are a few examples (put your mouse over the image to see what poem or song lyric their meant to represent):

(For some reason the images are turning up broken (agh) so while I violently murder the computer, here are two pages):

Fiona Apple's Paper Bag
The lyrics are in the bag.

8) That's it, that's all, I'm done.

Attack of the Itchy Eye

It all started with a peculiar itch in my left eye. Before I knew it I was rubbing it, smearing my eyeshadow all around my face until I looked like Christina Aguilera at any public event ever. I itched and itched and itched and it didn't go away. And to make matters worse, as soon as I could take no more of the left eye, as soon as I was prepared to douse it in lotion, drown it in eyedrop(s) or, if that didn't work, pop out my eyeball and become a pirate (yar), my right eye started to itch.

Grrring with a lot of agony, frustration and.. grunts, I began to rub both eyes furiously, hoping, wishing for the itch to dissipate, stop, cease, go away, torment someone else, or do whatever itches do when they've been defeated. My mom used to tell me it was bad to itch your eye, just as sitting too close to the television would ruin my sight and carrots would strengthen it. Figuring I've already got glasses that are a stronger prescription then Mr. Magoo would ever need, I didn't worry too much.

So I itched and I itched and I itched.

Both fingers, grating back and forth between my smudged and whore-ish eyelids, willing the itch to go away.

And thats why I didn't answer the phone. So, whoever you were, sorry.

You can call back now, by the way. The itching is gone. Its been replaced with incessant sneezing. (Allergy? What? ME?)

So...

Anyone else have insomnia? Whats that? No? You're all sleeping soundly?

Thats what I thought. Fuckers.

You know what else I'm hating about tonight? Here's the whole self-absorbed, pessimistic, depressing list:

1) I watched 'House Of Usher' (thats right. No link for you. Hah! Take that you Sleeper!) What is going on with that movie?? Sure, Vincent Price is pretty cool, even with that blonde-haired "I'm a California surfer who's going to ... take you to my castle, make you crazy and then torture you until you beg for mercy" thing he has going on... Although it is a B Movie in a lot of ways, so I suppose when it all comes down to it, I can't complain. Although, I already have, sooo...

2) The judges at the Olympics are SUCKING. Silver? I can't understand it.

3) I hate school. I'm really hating this pointless return year. I'd like to kick my June-self and scream at her, in her stupid cap and gown and tassel: "WHY ARE YOU GOING BACK FOR ANOTHER YEAR OF HIGH SCHOOL?? FER CHRISSAKES YOU'VE GRADUATED!" Then, I'd like to tell that self to not wear the cheerful all-black ensemble to the after-grad party. (Because it made my foolish June-self look like a slutty Star Trek ensign in uniform.) Following that I'd really like to reiterate to my pre-summer self: "IS VOCAL MUSIC REALLY THAT IMPORTANT?"... then I'd finish off with a great big, "YOU KNOW WHAT THIS'LL LEAD TO, DON'T YOU? YEAH. THAT'S RIGHT. CAPSLOCK! NEVERENDING, ANNOYING, PERPETUALLY YELLING CAPSLOCK. YOU BITCH." Of course, this won't do much good as my June-self will simply mutter, "Yes, but I'd like to waste my life, fall behind my peers and strive toward that future as a CAR SALESPERSON."

Ahgggg.

I think I'm going to battle sleep for awhile, drift off for an hour, wake up, drift off again, wake up, drift off once more and participate in that neverending funness that makes insomnia so special.
